What do you need to know?

  • Appoint­ments are open to URFA mem­bers by con­stituen­cy — please scroll down to see oppor­tu­ni­ties in your area
  • Terms start May 1, 2024 — dura­tion varies by appointment
  • Vol­un­teers should be will­ing and avail­able to ded­i­cate time to the work of the com­mit­tee for meet­ings and oth­er relat­ed activities
  • Vol­un­teer­ing for an URFA com­mit­tee may count as ser­vice, or you may be able to par­tic­i­pate on ​‘work time’ — please con­tact the URFA office for details on how this works for your bar­gain­ing unit

The dead­line to sub­mit your nom­i­na­tion form is 4:30 p.m. on Fri­day, April 5, 2024.

Mem­bers are enti­tled to nom­i­nate mem­bers from and to vote only with­in their own con­stituen­cy. In the event that there are more nom­i­na­tions received from an area than posi­tions avail­able, mem­bers of the area will vote on these nominees.

Each nom­i­na­tion form must bear the sig­na­ture of two mem­bers of the area as spon­sors of the nom­i­nee, and the sig­na­ture of the nom­i­nee to sig­ni­fy consent.

Cam­pi­on Col­lege & Luther Col­lege — Sessionals

The term of office for one (1) alter­nate mem­ber from the Cam­pi­on Col­lege or Luther Col­lege – Ses­sion­als Con­stituen­cy on the URFA Griev­ance Com­mit­tee are or will be vacant as of April 30, 2024. 

One alter­nate mem­ber from the Cam­pi­on Col­lege or Luther Col­lege Ses­sion­als Con­stituen­cy are to be elect­ed each for a 1‑year term from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025.

The alter­nates will serve as rep­re­sen­ta­tive for that con­stituen­cy if the elect­ed rep­re­sen­ta­tives can­not do so. The alter­nate may also attend meet­ings along with the mem­ber, but will have no vot­ing rights in this circumstance.

First Nations Uni­ver­si­ty of Cana­da — Academic

The term of office for one (1) del­e­gate and one (1) alter­nate mem­ber from the First Nations Uni­ver­si­ty — Aca­d­e­m­ic Con­stituen­cy on the URFA Griev­ance Com­mit­tee are or will be vacant as of April 30, 2024. 

One del­e­gate and one alter­nate mem­ber from the FNUniv Aca­d­e­m­ic Con­stituen­cy are to be elect­ed each for a 1‑year term from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025.

The alter­nates will serve as rep­re­sen­ta­tive for that con­stituen­cy if the elect­ed rep­re­sen­ta­tives can­not do so. The alter­nate may also attend meet­ings along with the mem­ber, but will have no vot­ing rights in this circumstance.

First Nations Uni­ver­si­ty of Cana­da — APT

The term of office for one (1) del­e­gate and one (1) alter­nate mem­ber from the First Nations Uni­ver­si­ty — APT Con­stituen­cy on the URFA Griev­ance Com­mit­tee are or will be vacant as of April 30, 2024. 

One del­e­gate and one alter­nate mem­ber from the FNUniv Aca­d­e­m­ic Con­stituen­cy are to be elect­ed each for a 3‑year term from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2027.

The alter­nates will serve as rep­re­sen­ta­tive for that con­stituen­cy if the elect­ed rep­re­sen­ta­tives can­not do so. The alter­nate may also attend meet­ings along with the mem­ber, but will have no vot­ing rights in this circumstance.

The term of office for one (1) del­e­gate and one (1) alter­nate mem­ber from the Luther Col­lege Con­stituen­cy on the URFA Griev­ance Com­mit­tee are or will be vacant as of April 30, 2024. 

One del­e­gate and one alter­nate mem­ber from the Luther Col­lege Con­stituen­cy are to be elect­ed each for a 3‑year term from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2027.

The alter­nates will serve as rep­re­sen­ta­tive for that con­stituen­cy if the elect­ed rep­re­sen­ta­tives can­not do so. The alter­nate may also attend meet­ings along with the mem­ber, but will have no vot­ing rights in this circumstance.

Uni­ver­si­ty of Regi­na — Academic

The term of office for two (2) alter­nate mem­bers from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Regi­na Aca­d­e­m­ic Con­stituen­cy on the URFA Griev­ance Com­mit­tee are both vacant. 

Two alter­nate mem­bers are to be elect­ed, one for a 1‑year term from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025, and anoth­er for a 2‑year term from May 1, 2024 – April 30, 2026.

The alter­nates will serve as rep­re­sen­ta­tive for that con­stituen­cy if the elect­ed rep­re­sen­ta­tives can­not do so. The alter­nate may also attend meet­ings along with the mem­ber, but will have no vot­ing rights in this circumstance.

Uni­ver­si­ty of Regi­na — APT

The term of office for one (1) del­e­gate and one (1) alter­nate mem­ber from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Regi­na APT Con­stituen­cy on the URFA Griev­ance Com­mit­tee are or will be vacant as of April 30, 2024. 

One del­e­gate and one alter­nate mem­ber from the UofR APT Con­stituen­cy are to be elect­ed each for a 3‑year term from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2027.

The alter­nates will serve as rep­re­sen­ta­tives for that con­stituen­cy if the elect­ed rep­re­sen­ta­tives can­not do so. The alter­nate may also attend meet­ings along with the mem­ber but will have no vot­ing rights in this circumstance.

Uni­ver­si­ty of Regi­na — Sessionals
