SFL Convention — Call for Delegates

URFA is look­ing for up to four mem­bers to rep­re­sent our union at the upcom­ing Speak­ing Out! 66^th Annu­al Saskatchewan Fed­er­a­tion of Labour Con­ven­tion — and we want you to be one of them!

What is the Saskatchewan Fed­er­a­tion of Labour (SFL)?

The SFL rep­re­sents over 100,000 union mem­bers from 37 unions across Saskatchewan, includ­ing our 1,500+ mem­bers at URFA!

The SFL serves as Saskatchewan’s ​“voice of work­ing peo­ple” on local, provin­cial, and nation­al issues like OH&S, pen­sions, labour stan­dards, min­i­mum wage, equal pay, and child­care. The SFL also plays a role rep­re­sent­ing work­ers with gov­ern­ment and lob­by­ing for leg­is­la­tion to improve human rights, pover­ty, medicare, income inequal­i­ty, and more.

What is the SFL Convention?

The 66^th Annu­al SFL Con­ven­tion will be held Octo­ber 26 – 28, 2022 in Regi­na. Click here for the Con­ven­tion Call.

This excit­ing event is a unique oppor­tu­ni­ty to be in the room with work­ing peo­ple from dif­fer­ent back­grounds and sec­tors, debate impor­tant issues fac­ing work­ers, and make deci­sions about which cam­paigns and issues Saskatchewan’s labour move­ment will focus on for the com­ing year.

At a time when the post-sec­ondary edu­ca­tion sec­tor is fac­ing so many big issues, it’s impor­tant that we have a strong pres­ence at this Con­ven­tion — to edu­cate oth­ers about what we’re fac­ing and to sup­port work­ers fight­ing for change in oth­er sectors.

Who can attend?

URFA can send up to four del­e­gates to this Con­ven­tion — it does­n’t mat­ter how much union or work expe­ri­ence you have, any mem­ber is eli­gi­ble to apply.

All expens­es are paid and we will help you arrange for time off work to attend.
