Bargaining Advisory Committee
All URFA members are invited to the first meeting of the Bargaining Advisory Committee (BAC) on November 26 at 1:30 pm. via zoom.
The Bargaining Advisory Committee (BAC) is an ad hoc committee that is active during bargaining of collective agreements under URFA’s mandate. It’s mandate is to:
1. To provide an advisory capacity to bargaining teams and URFA’s Executive. Advice may be provided on language to be negotiated, strategic advice, and research necessary.
2. To provide communication support to various stakeholders during bargaining.
3. To provide a venue for training opportunities (including mentoring of members interested in participation on bargaining teams).
4. To transition to the Job Action Committee (JAC), if necessary.
The BAC is comprised of URFA members from any of URFA’s bargaining units. If you have any interest in any aspect of negotiating and bargaining collective agreements, please join the BAC by either coming to the meeting or emailing URFA.President@uregina.ca.
Your interest might include:
- Serving on negotiating committees.
- Researching issues important to bargaining.
- Participating in strategy surrounding bargaining.
- Communication with colleagues about bargaining (member mobilization).
- Participation in job action support if necessary.
- Learning about bargaining procedures.
- And more.
Participation in the BAC is open to members from ALL bargaining units regardless of the collective agreement being negotiated. Our initial meeting on November, 26th will be an opportunity to meet and chat about people’s interest in this new process.
