All URFA mem­bers are invit­ed to the first meet­ing of the Bar­gain­ing Advi­so­ry Com­mit­tee (BAC) on Novem­ber 26 at 1:30 pm. via zoom.

The Bar­gain­ing Advi­so­ry Com­mit­tee (BAC) is an ad hoc com­mit­tee that is active dur­ing bar­gain­ing of col­lec­tive agree­ments under URFA’s man­date. It’s man­date is to: 

1. To pro­vide an advi­so­ry capac­i­ty to bar­gain­ing teams and URFA’s Exec­u­tive. Advice may be pro­vid­ed on lan­guage to be nego­ti­at­ed, strate­gic advice, and research nec­es­sary.
2. To pro­vide com­mu­ni­ca­tion sup­port to var­i­ous stake­hold­ers dur­ing bar­gain­ing.
3. To pro­vide a venue for train­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties (includ­ing men­tor­ing of mem­bers inter­est­ed in par­tic­i­pa­tion on bar­gain­ing teams).
4. To tran­si­tion to the Job Action Com­mit­tee (JAC), if necessary. 

The BAC is com­prised of URFA mem­bers from any of URFA’s bar­gain­ing units. If you have any inter­est in any aspect of nego­ti­at­ing and bar­gain­ing col­lec­tive agree­ments, please join the BAC by either com­ing to the meet­ing or email­ing URFA.​President@​uregina.​ca.

Your inter­est might include:

- Serv­ing on nego­ti­at­ing com­mit­tees.
- Research­ing issues impor­tant to bar­gain­ing.
- Par­tic­i­pat­ing in strat­e­gy sur­round­ing bar­gain­ing.
- Com­mu­ni­ca­tion with col­leagues about bar­gain­ing (mem­ber mobi­liza­tion).
- Par­tic­i­pa­tion in job action sup­port if nec­es­sary.
- Learn­ing about bar­gain­ing pro­ce­dures.
- And more. 

Par­tic­i­pa­tion in the BAC is open to mem­bers from ALL bar­gain­ing units regard­less of the col­lec­tive agree­ment being nego­ti­at­ed. Our ini­tial meet­ing on Novem­ber, 26th will be an oppor­tu­ni­ty to meet and chat about peo­ple’s inter­est in this new process.
