A call for nominations was issued on January 7, 2021 for the URFA Council of Representatives (COR) elections. According to Article 8.3 of the Constitution, a member shall be entitled to nominate and to vote only within the member’s constituency.
Meetings of the Council of Representatives shall be held at least quarterly. The Council provides policy advice and recommendations to the Executive Committee for the benefit of the Association. The Council of Representatives are elected for two-year terms (unless otherwise indicated), approximately one-half elected to take office each year, from various constituencies at the University of Regina, Campion College, Luther College, and the First Nations University of Canada.
The terms of office for all Council members will commence May 1; however, a meeting of the elected members of the Council of Representatives is required on or before April 15 to elect the following Executive Committee members: Member at Large (Academic), Member at Large (APT) and Equity Officer.
According to 7.2.11 of the Constitution, those constituencies that are entitled to one representative on the Council of Representatives may elect, at the time of the Council elections, an alternate representative. This alternate may serve as representative for that constituency if the elected representative cannot do so.
